Beauty and the Beast

by Sarah   Mar 13, 2007

The propitiatory smog stated its territory,
Through the lingering aged pores
Both of which are too indomitable to disappear
The rawness of the once adolescent love
The lavender smudged now with remnants of blood
Skin stinging from the prick of a needle
Paving its path through the skin and into the soul,
A perpetual wound of irretrievable passion
Bursting through the egocentric oceans
The luminosity among-st the clouded hoodlum
A joint between the rosemary and the anguished dirt
The joint now near broken except for the little bits of ligament that refuse to let go
An irrevocable stage where the lavender has now resided permanently
Willingly or not, stuck within the depths of purgatory
The dirt beneath it dead, unfertilized for many years to come and go
The roots loosening its hold but still managing to hold tight
Not rain nor hail can break it
The dirt fighting against itself in hopes of a long lost journey
Coming across the golden flowers and soft harmonious melodies
Turning to mud alongside the deafening screeching of a banshee
Acid rain sucking the soul from the garden of Eden
Once momentarily lost between themselves
Where the sun held his eyes with compassion
Through its invisible tongue, it whispers hope of unspeakable happiness
Now broken through a power stronger than their own
