Unhappy ever after

by DarkJem   Mar 15, 2007

A single tear,
Masses of fear,
For when you say,
Goodbye today.

What should I do?
I'd die for you,
A single kiss,
Reminisce.

A broken heart,
Poisoned dart,
Rips through,
I loved you.

Smashed dreams,
Losing team,
Wrong life,
Glance at knife.

Didn't mean to,
I loved you,
Simple cuts,
No guts.

Twirling it in my hand,
Trying to stand,
Frozen numb,
Wait for you to come.

A little drink here,
A little there,
Now i'm too drunk,
Smell worse than a skunk.

Now you arrive,
I'm still alive,
Just,
You do what you feel you must.

I awake with a drip in my arm,
You're appalled by myself harm,
You blame yourself,
For my ill health.

Doctors' diagnosis,
I have cirrhosis,
My liver's screwed,
Not in the mood.

Ruined my life,
I caused this strife,
Tried to end it,
Because we split.

Never mattered,
My life now shattered,
Damn,
I forgot who I am.

I had to get it off my chest,
Tried to die and get laid to rest,
I hated myself so much,
All I remembered was the feel of your touch.

What good did it do?
If only you knew,
But you left,
After your theft.

You took my heart,
When we fell apart,
Now I'm alone,
It was only on loan.

You took it and didn't return,
And now you turn up to show your concern,
I try to forget that we ever met,
Thinking makes me feel upset.

You try to make things right,
I'm trying to stay polite,
Now I've had enough,
Stop all this sob stuff.

"Get out,
You've had your chance" I shout,
You turn and run,
If only I knew you had a gun.

I limp to the roof to apologize,
You stand there with a gun between your eyes,
You see me and breathe one word,
The wind took it but I heard.

You pull the trigger "bang", you slump to the floor,
I reach your side and see blood galore,
I see the good times we had,
I look away, I feel so bad.

I remember I tried suicide before,
You stopped me before I reached the door,
You made a promise; I was on my life tether,
You said that we would go together.

I start to uncontrollably weep,
You are in an ultimate sleep,
I reach for the gun hold it up high,
Whisper to the world one word "goodbye".
