Waiting in the Rain.

by Not Bulletproof   Mar 16, 2007

I waited for you for as long as I could,
but the rain fell cold and I had to leave.
At first I was excited; anxious to see,
but as time passed on, I began to grieve.

I feel stupid for thinking you'd come;
my hopes were high and I was happy,
but as shivers started to flood my spine,
I realized you weren't coming for me.

No sign as to why you left me alone,
just the horrible thoughts in my head.
What did I do? Where did I go wrong?
Was it something I did or what I said?

My only regret is not waiting longer,
but being me, I cannot stand the cold,
and your lack of actions speak loud,
louder than any words to ever be told.

I am not sure where to go from here,
but I know I'll come back to this spot,
and I will wait for you again and again,
till the rain is cold and stand, I cannot.

Maybe sometime you'll send me a sign,
and not leave me here to wait and freeze.
I'm hoping one day you'll come to me,
and warm my heart from this cold breeze.

Until then, I hope you'll be okay,
and I will wait for you each day.
