Exit Soundtrack

by Kevin   Apr 7, 2007

Night swimming without water,
in the way penguins glide through liquid,
seeming free, though suspended.
I too long for the surface.

Diving deep with aims to soar,
perhaps a journey far too far.
It's coming up from down's the trouble.
I'm too long from the surface.

Trembling now with muted effort,
how to crest the wave, to sky?
before the water, calm, denies.
I am too long now upon the surface.

Light obscures the shade of oceans,
floating as I am above it.
Though heavy now, and single minded.
I am only now the long hard surface.

A truly incredible piece of poetry! The words seemed to float off the pages and I was able to take in all of your imagery. The words worked really well together, and I particularly liked this stanza:

Diving deep with aims to soar,
perhaps a journey far too far.
It's coming up from down's the trouble.
I'm too long from the surface.

I don't know why, but I enjoyed that part the most.
Keep it up, and I wouldn't change anything ^_^ 5/5

P.S. If you get a chance, could you please RRC one of my poems? Thanks ^.-
