Raven Locks

by Green Maiden   Apr 8, 2007

Light on these golden curls, goodbye-
You will be drawn to them no more.
Absorbed in my embrace of night
I cover up what came before.

I once was made of sunshine bright,
Sang sweet beneath cornflower skies.
Now I dance ‘twixt the moonlit trees,
Light on these golden curls, goodbye.

Blue eyes now framed in ebony,
Exchanging coronet for veil,
Can you see my soul is changing?
I become a different fairytale.

Light on these golden curls, goodbye-
You will be drawn to them no more.
For now I shake back raven locks
And cover up what came before.
