Not knowing what the future may hold..

by Latasha   Apr 9, 2007

Another beer with a friend,
Not thinking what the future may hold,
You pound it back,
Laughing at the joke your buddy just told,
Not thinking what the future may hold...

Stumbling out of the bar,
Fiddling to get your keys in the ignition,
Maybe it should have been a sign,
But you continued to drive away,
Not thinking what the future may hold...

Laughing with your buddy,
You speed off in the night,
Not thinking what the future may hold...

You decided to go out in the country,
Like so many times before,
Not thinking what the future may hold,
A few drinks in your system,
No seat belt on,
Not a care in the world...

Maybe you were going to fast,
Maybe you didn't see what was coming,
Maybe you thought you were incapable of getting hurt...

But in a blink of an eye,
Your jeep was rolling,
And that breath was your last,
Not knowing this was your destiny,
Another victim to drinking and driving...
