Breathtakingly Real

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Apr 17, 2007

She laces her shoes, as she heads out the door.
Ajusting the volume of the music,
She takes the first steps toward the journey.
Dreams fill her mind, a possible future.

Breathtakingly real.

Her legs slowly begin to pound the asphalt,
As her heart follows this rythmn.
Sweat beams on her forehead,
Her breathing becomes stready as last.

Exploding into her dreams, her life,
She continues on the path she has created
After years of hard work.
A possible future.

Music echoes in her ears,
As her surroundings become blurry.
They are but a background.

Nothing seems more important anymore.
This is all that matters: running.
She is finally home, finally at peace.

This is who she is. What she does.

Her feet continue to pound the asphalt
As music blasts in her ears, motivating.
This is where she belongs.

Breathtakingly real, at last.
