Final Face Off!

Final Face Off

Standing behind the doors, in a wedding dress of white
She stares at the floor, wiping away the tears
She knows the people sitting there, will startle her with fright
The doors slowly open, answering her worse fears

She takes her first steps towards you, as they whisper 'look at her'
She smiles at them slowly, on the sadness she chokes
She comes to a halt beside you, the church such a blur
Smelling the fire burning, the slow rise of smoke

She pushes the memories, your cheating, to the back of her mind
She smiles at the vicar 'i'm nervous' she mumbles
Forgetting that her husbands mistress is in the pews behind
She remember the nights on the couch, how she wishes she wasn't humble

She takes a slow deep breath
And turns to her husband to be
'Lets share this special day, soon to be my death,
I can't wait for the kiss, so she can see'

As the vicar speaks of the vows
'Honor, love, cherish, respect' she holds back tears again
Her minds flickers to the future of 'his, hers, and ours'
In a matter of distress she throws the wedding band down, so plain

She walks out of the church, tears streaming down her face
Walking away from the fights, the lonely night at home
She does not know where she is going, anywhere away from this place
She finally learnt her lesson; she's left him free to roam.
