The Orion

by Lanaia Lee   May 2, 2007

A poem written for the new novel, I'm working on called Avenger on the Ancient

We are from an ancient star within Orion's belt
Our civilization was dying, we had to search for another place that would meet our needs
Earth we choose, to imp regnant certain females, at the time our presence was never felt
We were desperate to save our people, as over the earth, we spread our seed.

After the deed was done, some choose to stay, we wanted to see our offspring grows
I was one of them, I wanted to be near my child, I could love him from afar
I wanted my child to know I was his friend, and not a foe
But sometimes I look to the heavens, just to catch a glimpse of my star.

Our technology would super seed, above anything earth had ever seen
We had the power to eternal life, if we choose to do so
We harnessed the power of the mind, I had to see if my child had inherited this gene
One that would make him rise, to things, normal humans would never know.

I choose to impregnate a queen, knowing she offer the child unbelievable things
Our child would be a king, he would become known as an eternal
That meant to life he could forever cling
He would have to learn to harness his powers, only using them when the situation would allow

Our son became the king of a land once called Atlantis
Off spring of the Orion, well every civilization, you can be assured, one of the was probably there
Linking all civilizations together, throughout history's long abyss
The pyramids, all the wonders of the ancient world, this was technology of the Orion's lair.

So, see in an attempt to save our dying race
We were good for the ancient man, showing them ways for a better life and to have time for a little fun
We showed you a way of life, that would forever affect their pace
I linger watching my sons grow to a man, me knowing he was special, because within his veins flowed the blood of the Orion
