My Blessings

This pain cutting like a knife
When saying a prayer today
Why am I still suffering
Asking God to take me away

When out of no where, how odd
My thoughts they have all changed
Thanking God for letting me live
My prayer had been rearranged

Lord I am so grateful
For all I still get to see
The sunshine in the morning
All the love surrounding me

Visions of my grand-children
The wonderment in their eyes
As they meet each new day
Smile on faces, with joyful sighs

Into a wonderful man
Watching my son grow
Thank you for this gift
On me which you bestowed

Thank you for the friends
You have brought my way
They help hold me up
When things go astray

Happiness is always near
In all my family
When the pain gets me down
They are there loving me

With gratitude I thank you
For opening my heart
Showing me all I have
Bounteous blessings you impart
