Hunger Go Away

by Robert   May 20, 2007

A prison with no bars to hold you in,
just a deep sensation that keeps you down from within.
Eyes sunk in their sockets looking like a skull,
And the linings of ribs are the only thing that decorated the bodies hull.
Fingers long and thing arcing to grab anything to eat,
for it only survival that drives them on from death they try to retreat.
They walk among the wealth not human but something to dread,
swelling in their belly, and looking like they were half dead.
Their hands too fragile to grab to hold of any hope in sight,
they just lie around hoping some one has misery fro their plight.
This happens not in one country but is found world wide,
for in every continent of this world hunger resides.
In a world of vegetation and food found in every corner of land and sea,
Why should this be a portrait of man we are determined to see?
All over this world, the treasures of life are abundantly clear,
So tell me why anyone has to have hunger to fear?
Is it too hard just to give bread or water to those that want to stay alive?
Or do we still wish to have hunger stay alive.
Cancer, Heart disease, Aids the disease of this day and age,
Why does hunger still play a part on our world’s stage?
So the next time you see what you know is to be wrong,
Give to some one and teach them how to remain strong.
It’s not hard to take the time to share and show the way,
For if we all help each other then maybe hunger will simply go away.

I really enjoyed this, I found it to hold such power and intensity.

A beautiful message behind the written words and portrayed with such beauty and elegance.

The depth and emotion in this piece are easy for the reader to see, and I thought this was beautifully written.

Excellent poem, the lines were very creative. And you put very strong emotions into it. Although I think it would have been better with punctuation to kinda neaten it up a bit. But it was great, good job 5/5
