Sculpted Lives

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jun 17, 2007

Up on that golden pedestal; we sure do shine,
While they work out in their heads the perfect design,
And they snap their fingers; they've found the one,
Muttering: "These girls will be flawless when we're done!"

Bronze skin shines under the bright spotlight,
Covered slightly by a white shirt worn tight,
And our skirts are hiked up three inches too high,
Topped off with make-up around our blind eyes.

Chiseled to perfection; down to every detailed curve,
Our beauty is one thing they've worked hard to preserve;
A masked beauty with an exterior of disguise,
Is the prettiest little thing in all of their egotistic eyes.

We've got the looks; they don't care about the brain,
Holding the compliments from the gents so vain,
And we fall under pressure; on beauty we thrive,
For society now has control over our sculpted lives.

They being society and media, we being the people who fall under the pressure of them and the pressure of stereotypes from guys.
