Leap of faith

The time has come to leave,
to let go of everything I know,
to move onwards and upwards,
to meet my stars and dreams,
but will it go o.k.?
will it all work out?
never shall i know.
Only then will i find out,
If i sink
or if I swim,
If this leap of faith into the unknown
and over the devils chasm,
will find me at the other end.
Find me at the top of that mountain,
looking down at all I have acheived.
Only then will I find out if I have made a life for myself
if I have made my mark on this world.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained
they told me,
without defeat, you can never learn the value of success.
I hope they're right,
For I am flying blind,
and I am scared,
as I step out over that chasm
and pray
