One Person You Can't Fool

by Briana   Jul 1, 2007

What can lie underneath your emotions?
A facade of falsehoods and memories haunting.
The growing season of time.
You've improved.
But it's harder to fix.
This light bulb won't turn on.
The ignition won't start.
So patience becomes procrastination.
Stranded in a world you can't see.
As the experts are fooled by your creation.
This new life you've established
As a genuine fraud.
A laughable cause of fright.
When you can analyze.
When you can think.
But no one thinks.
No one's afraid
Because everyone believes.
In your fragile shell.
In your constant act.
But you disgrace me.
You vandalize me.
With your potion of what could be.
With your constant shrieks and worries
About what they may think
Or if they'll agree.
With your foolish ideals
And your wasted time
Just trying to find
Something you can't even name.
Then I find
You have the audacity
To chastise me in your poetry.
