The Path

From the first time that we met
I knew you were the one
To help me build my family
To help me raise my son

Everything was fine
Until that dreadful day
That I decided to stray
And I sent you away

That should have been the end
Of this rocky road we're walking
You should have taken another path
But instead you just kept talking

As we walked a little farther
Tragedy struck again
But this time I couldn't tell you
I didn't know where to begin

But once again you couldn't just
Walk away and abandon me
In your eyes there was something
Even I couldn't see

Eventually it did happen
Our paths split in two ways
And we were doomed to walk alone
For more then a few days

But as fate would have it
We were returned to each others paths
So far when we think of the past
We just stop and laugh

So now we'll walk the path together
And one day we will see
That no matter what happens
We were simply meant to be
