Fireworks

by Verity Han   Jul 6, 2007

The calm
The wait
The scrambling of feet
The murmurs of excitement

The sudden BANG
The flashing lights
The small gasps
Then it fades

Another one
And another one
Loud and clear
Music in the background

The quickening breath
The skipping hearts
Eyes wide in amazement
Fingers toying with hair

Then it ends
The way it starts
The lights fade away
The music dims

Then the sudden roar
A thunderous sound
Look around
People clapping
