He's my country boy

Not only is he sweet enough
to make me blush candy apple red
he also says the sweetest things
that keeps his voice always in my head

he likes huntin' and goin' fishin'
12 pt bucks make 'em drool
he's really clumsy, tripping over his own feet
but he always comes out lookin' cool

he's a camo man
and his favorite trucks a ford
he was raised a gentleman
always holds the door

hes just so damn perfect
a redneck through and through
i think i might be fallin'
o' what am i to do

he rides bulls and horses
hangin' on for 8 seconds or more
what have i got myself into
exactly whats in store

he enjoys mudboggin'
rifles and cold beer
is it really true
is he really real

he's loyal and he's tough
a protector and a friend
if he's fightin' for my honor
no doubt he will win

hes my country boy
born and raised in the south
they sexy southern accent
drifts slowly out his mouth

I've fallin' head over cowgirl boots
for this sexy southern man
with arms i could sleep in forever
and a down home Georgia tan

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS. Actually, it would make an amazing country song. I love the whole country theme, it's rare in a lot of poetry now a days I find. The flow was amazing, and I could see everything perfectly.

    Krys, after reading this poem, I just had to leave you a comment. This poem was beautiful! It wasn't cliched like most love poems are and I can tell that it came straight from your heart. I have my own country boy, so reading this made me feel pride and I laughed, knowing someone else out there felt the same way. The flow was great and I liked the rhyme scheme. My favorite line jsut had to be :"I've fallin' head over cowgirl boots" That just made me smile and I got a great image. Once again, great use of words and the imagery was awesome!

    I am glad your writer's block has gone, and this poem was absolutely brilliant!
