This Dream Of Mine

I had this one dream
That you and me went away.
We packed our bags
And drove away in your mustang.

We left this world behind
And ventured to find our own.
We wanted to find a place
That we could together call our home.

We wanted to get away
And just leave our past behind.
As long as we'd be together
Then happiness we would find.

So we left that place
And together alone we were.
Things for us would get better
And of that we knew for sure.

In this dream of mine
I saw us happy as can be.
We were laughing and playing
And I was never seen crying.

We'd hold hands as we walked
And talked about random things.
I was caressing you slowly
As to me, you would softly sing.

We'd fall asleep together
And hold each other close.
And as I hold you tightly
Know it's me who loves you most.

And when the mornings come
To each other we would wake.
I'd see your beautiful face
And the smile I love that you won't fake.

I saw us together
And I saw us so happy.
As we were holding each other close
I heard you tell me you loved me.

But then I wake up
And you are not beside me.
And then I remember
That we are actually not happy.

How I wish that dream were real
And we were really back together.
Because we were meant to be as one
And we were suppose to forever.
