The train stops here

by megan   Aug 26, 2007

Tonight i heard a familiar noise.
echoing through these four walls.
i didnt have any time to think.
i just grabbed my ipod. and ran.
a final destination, set in my mind.
i just kept running,
closer to that peaceful noise.
I ran and ran as fast as i could.
i finally reached those tracks,
but i was too late,
im always too late,
for the whistle had long since resided.
but i still had hoped,
that you would have acknowledged my effort,
as i sprinted my way through to you,
ignoring the lightening,
and drowning thunder out through "our song"
i just wanted you to know, i got there as fast as i could.
maybe you were there, and you just left me,
im sorry i made you wait. i always end up loosing.
i just wanted you to know, i gave my night to you.
i wandered in your direction.
and just know, tonight, could have been the
most damn romantic thing in the world.
but you werent there when i arrived,
so i had to slowly crawl back to loneliness.
