Do You Dare Ask Why

Do you dare ask why
I refuse to get too close
When we start bonding
I disappear like a ghost

Do you dare ask why
I will not let you in my life
When you call I hurry off the phone
Trying not to create much strife

The truth is that I am in love
Mesmerized by everything about you
Daydreaming on the future we could have had
Wishing that it was me you wed instead

Though we are best friends
I never want our love to end
dare you ask why
We never speak of our feelings

Do you dare ask why
I have found myself lost
Struggling to keep you near
Memorizing your every touch

The way your hair flows
when to the gentle breeze it's exposed
the sparkle in your eyes
or the tenderness in your replies

I am in love with everything about you,
When you try to protect me from harm,
And when you hold me just because,
Letting me bask within your charms

Do not ask me to stay
because I will without delay
I know in the end I will be hurt
If I do not push you away

Do you dare ask why
You have my heart and soul
It is because you are genuine
And I have fallen against all hope

Why not dare
We just might find
Love does exist
Our souls intertwined

    This is a very revealing poem that reflect a self knowledge and honesty that is rare
    Without getting too personal it reminds me that we all must face our deepest fears in order to receive true healing. Very well written

    Ok, i thought it was a pretty good poem, but throughout the whole poem it seemed like the rhyming was forced and it just made the poem sound weird, and you also changed yoru ryhming pattern, but still id have to give you a 4/5

    It was very good. On some parts the rhyming was off but other than that it was pretty nice. I'll give it a four.

    Let your souls be entwined and you get all the love you desire. This is what I WISH for you but your poem tells that its not possible at the moment and thats a sad news. Your poem has mournful feelings and beautiful descriptions of the qualities of your loved one. I loved the poem.
