Grandpa

by LifeWithout   Sep 14, 2007

It was a December afternoon as we walked through a set doors, that lead into a room with four beds, two on each wall.

A Lil old man sitting in a pink chair, smiling with a smile so sweet
With enough strength, a hello came out.
Unaware as to what was going on
Questions were slowly asked
Arms so weak
Legs brittle
A body that looked so sick

I wanted to cry, I just didn't know how.
I wanted to talk, but I couldn't find the words.
I stayed with you for the day
I should have visited more than just once.

You never notice the stupid things till it's to late.
It was a hard Christmas
It was missing a special person.

All I have left is a picture
A picture that won't bring you back

However I now know your safe and free.. in the heavens above I look up and I'm blessed to know I will see you soon..

I loved you, and still do..
