Child of the Earth

by Lenny   Sep 19, 2007

The sky is tattooed across her brow,
Her eyes are intrinsic splashes of
The mountain green
And her lips
Dusky brown
Trace the vein patterns of the earth

She is mountain child
She is also the earth
In its dusted palette of browns
The sweeping sands
And baked mud

She is the entity of the stretching sky
Its coiling blues and greens
And drifter clouds
Hitch-hikers on the sweeping zephyr

Nature child
Her toes dwindle in insipid sands
Twirling in tribute and painting life
To the golden weavings

They tap-dance ripples
Across flat glassed waters
Tickle tall grasses
And flick ant-eyes of mud up legs

She is mountain child
Emerald droplets of salt crust her hair
And embroil her skin
Dreadlocks and tattoos

She is free
Leaf on the rhythm breeze
To the tribal drumming
Of Autumns beginning

A child of the earth.

    Hi! Eclipse here.
    This poem is very...earthly...

    She is mountain child
    She is also the earth

    - That just doesn't do it for me... I dunno, its very weird sounding..

The rest of the poem seems okay. Actually rather good. Just like a very large percentage of your other poems!

    Keep on writing!
    Eclipse.
