Sixes and Sevens. [Edited]

by Prophecies In Kodak   Sep 30, 2007

There is something now so soft and silent
and it is taking away my better judgement
blistered coherency is a bitter taste to tongues
taking away what you called your better sense.
i've left my second helping on the door step
with your name ringing through these ears;
i have treaded lightly through the scenario and
i havent got the courage yet to overcome fear.
you wish me the best in life, i have been told
but i'd rather take it heart than to my mind.
with slight recognition you're burning my bridges
just to tell yourself you never had the time.
and i always knew i should have bought you
the watch that i knew you would some day use
because i'm left now with no water to the faucet,
a few parting words and my substance abuse.
it's all sixes and sevens with nothing left here,
a lack of fight that left me without a drop to drink.
i'm floating through the apathy without a license
because i couldnt drive right now, let alone think.
there's no reason to raise our voices right now
you could hear my voice 15,000 miles away.
i know you know i'm out there somewhere, listen
listen carefully to my words the records do play.
you are here now, but only in your spirit and
i couldnt bring myself to relay the message through.
it's so hard to play cards and talk it out when
i know the sun has taken surrender now to you.
so here i'll sit with lint lining my inner pocket
playing trades just to keep your face alive.
when we drew straws i thought i had the long end
but now i know the difference, don't say i never tried.

Excepting the absence of an occasional space between some groups of lines which really Would help one to See what you're saying more vividly and rhythmically,I really am enjoying your work and filling up with one enormous meal at a time..See what I mean?

    special appreciation for the following:

"it's all sixes and sevens with nothing left here,
a lack of fight that left me without a drop to drink.
i'm floating through the apathy without a license
because i couldnt drive right now, let alone think"

I tried to pick a part to say that I really liked but truthfully I like it all. It has so many useful and fun words.
