Back From the Dead.

by Not Bulletproof   Oct 21, 2007

When will I see you again?
I'm desperately searching sidewalks,
looking for your face.
I don't want to forget you,
and I think I'm starting to.
Everywhere I go is the wrong place.
You only remain as a subject of talk;
a fairytale now - not human.

I'm hoping to catch a look-see,
but you're hidden too well.
When will you come out?
I miss looking into your eyes,
I miss your shape and size.
Please scream or please shout,
just something so I can tell
you still exist somewhere in humanity.

They say you're gone away,
but I won't let them win;
you're out there somewhere,
and I won't believe otherwise;
I won't believe their lies.
I hope you know that I still care,
and I hold you deep within,
because I want to see you again one day.

I look into every passing car,
hoping to see you seeing me,
but you're never there looking back.
When will I find you?
I know the stories aren't true.
You just need time to get life on track,
and you'll come out when you're ready.
That time is not too far.

What will they say when you arrive?
They'll know I was right.
I believe I'll see you again soon.
Whether it's in the distance,
or up close for an instant.
You'll be back by next full moon.
I'll be waiting every night,
for your existence to come to alive.

I miss you more with each day,
and I swear I hear you whisper.
I need you more than ever.
So please, come out from your hiding,
let there be no more inner fighting.
Please don't be gone forever.
What they say may cause a stir,
but I believe I'll see you someday.
You can't have passed away...
