Don't Play That Song

by Melpomene   Oct 23, 2007

Compositions of a thousand heartfelt violins,
Played within an orchestra of forbidden melody
As flutes create a beat dancing within the soul,
Symphony's murder my eyes for tears I cannot control,
Listening to the lyrics, which replay my memory's.

Visions blurred from the sound of sweetest keys,
As lyrics bury my heart, in a graveyard with you,
Flutes mixed with the strings of an acoustic,
Within chorus my thoughts I can no longer subdue,
As colored rose petals fall onto the darkened floor.

Music betrays the heart strings with broken harmony,
As I whisper a long quietly with such sorrowing words,
Another autumn day drifts along with chords of love,
Though I do not feel them, whilst glancing at above,
As I think to myself, Please don't play that song

I love your choice of words, this poem also has excellent flow, and the way you described emotions was perfect. It deserves more than 5/5
