Choices

by The Pessimistic Peabody   Oct 23, 2007

There is always two sides
To every street
Mockingbirds don't just
Sing songs that are sweet
Grass isn't always green
24/7 the sun doesn't shine
However sincere the heart maybe
Mendacious remains the mind
There is freedom of expression
Though I must choose suppression
For even martyrs make their point
In their silence and in death

Fantastically perched just on the very edge of the fence and miles ahead of all competition, a piece that reminds me why I should always turn the world on its head, if only in my mind, to ensure nothing sinister lurks beneath the couch cushions, the proceed with judgement.

I thought this was a great poem
it was short, but the words were
full of meaning and they were chosen
    and peaced together
    perfectley
    a well deserved 5/5

Oh my, this was amazing. You have a gift with knowing how to use your words, dear Peabody! And that is highly impressive, I must say :p.

From beginning, middle till the very end, this piece was over-flowing with powerful vocabulary and distinct images. I don't know if I can actually criticize this.

Hmm. An idea though. I do quite appreciate the way you've worded "24/7 the sun doesn't shine". However, I would suggest that you separate this line from the first five lines and the six lines that follow it. Also, you could place a full stop after the 7 and start the sentence with a capital letter; so it would read like this “24/7. The sun doesn’t shine.” This way you may just give the line a double meaning; which is in effect another poetic technique.

Gosh. I can't think of anything else. But, this was an intelligent write. Very, very well done dude :).
