I promised her

by I always end up killing myself in the end   Oct 29, 2007

She is my world
The apple of my eye
Daddy's precious little girl
Only one who could make me cry

In her eyes I am God
To her, heaven resides in my arms
The whole world is hers
Daddy's little charm

It wasn't long ago
She was sitting on my knee
I promised her, "If you believe
You can be anything you'd like to be

Honey, use your imagination
Don't forget for one minute
Your dreams are within your reach
And the sky will never be the limit"

My little girl, she is growing so fast
No longer a baby
Soon to be a young lady
No need for my protection

I watch as she starts to spread her wings
A tear slips from my eye
Soon I will have to let her go
However, the little girl she once was will always remain in my heart
