Falling down

by The Sky is Falling   Nov 22, 2007

The leaves turn,
And they fall.
They have admitted defeat,
To the forces of nature.

Walking home alone,
Leaves falling all around.
You want to give up,
Just like the leaves do.

The wind blows,
And the leaves fall.
Life pushes you down,
But you get right back up.

Sitting at home,
Leaves falling outside the window.
Parents screaming at you,
And their words come crashing down.

The wind blows,
And the leaves fall.
Life pushes you down,
But you get right back up.

Walking through school,
Leaves stuck to shoes.
Kids laughing at you,
And the pressure intensifies.

The wind blows,
And the leaves fall.
Life pushes you down,
And you wonder why,
You bother to get up.

Nice poem, the analogy of the leaves really gave the poem something more to focus on. However, I can't nderstand why it's listed in funny poems? Seemed more of a sad poem to me, a poem of yearning.
