The Rain That Melts Away

by Erinbob   Dec 15, 2007

Let the rain wash upon my spirit

let me feel your mercy my Jesus

In your tenderness I speak

I come to you bowed and gasping for breath

Then you touch me

You comfort my aching bones

My muscles that were tightened

... I feel them no more.

In your gaze I tremble

My King, my Adonai

To hear your softest whisper

In your hands I shall not fall

I can sleep knowing I will see your face

And that what I had done

Is no longer my shame.

I long to dance with you

And smile while I stretch forth my own hands

My body trembles before you

In your majesty... your beautiful mist

It encompasses my thoughts

My soul's purpose is your want

Show me the way - you are faithful to me

There is nothing that can be hidden you

Your grace is like the falling of the winter's snow

It alights upon my soul with fire

And it keeps raining - pouring down upon my face

And all I can do is close my eyes

And feel your enlivening embrace...

See, I am smiling because of You.

Jesus, my Comforter.
