A mother's love

by Poetic Ninja aka Papachopchop   Jan 4, 2008

Thank you for being there,
When I was sad.
Thank you for listening,
When I was mad.
Thank you for understanding,
When I cried.
Thank you for encouraging me,
When I tried.
Thank you for helping me,
When I gave up.
Thank you for mending me,
When my heart was cut.

You never left me,
Even when I deserved it,
You never shunned me,
When I treated you like shit,

That is the strength,
Of the love of a mother,
It can not be matched,
From the love of another.

Let me take,
This time to say,
You've been there for me,
In every way.

Thank you!

This is touching and written in a good way, with a lot of emotions. Nice topic. I truly like the whole poem. The repetition in the first stanza created great flow that continued through the rest of the piece.
    Keep up!
