Destiny Spites Me

by Pete   Jan 4, 2008

I gave you my heart
I loved so you much
you were mine for moment
and I cherished your touch

something was started
by you; not by me
so perfectly matched
your ebony to my ivory

I got too heavy with it
the blame is all mine
I put my cards on the table
heart, body, soul, and mind

So you ran from the kitchen
you couldn't handle the heat
a relationship can't be built
when one half's incomplete

every minute was yours
my life laid on the line
why can't I fit in
to your lifes design?

Dedicated to the one that took the last pinch of compassion left in this empty soul. You know who you are!
