The Actress

by Laloser05   Jan 7, 2008

The cameras are recording,
Every single smile is a lie.
She escapes from the outside world,
Just for a second in this life.

She puts it up as her protection,
Her only defense against the pain.
But these smiles are mirrored walls,
She's trapped inside them again.

Every tear, every scream is locked in,
The pressure building, threatening to release.
Infected with a pain so dark, so fierce,
All she longs for is a bit of peace.

The cameras roll on, Where's the cut?
Cue for the final blow. Finale scene.
Bang. Pressure is released. Blood red rivers,
But I've never seen a face so serene.
