You're Ready For 2008

by Jaime   Jan 7, 2008

The cocoon is finally ripening, Blondie
And soon you'll shed your shell.
You'll be stepping into a bigger world,
From a comfort zone you know too well.

I promise, you are ready for this
The sun wants you to come get her.
You're going to make some positive changes-
You'll make the world a little bit better.

Bigger things are waiting now
Don't let yourself hold you back.
Make the best of what you already have,
And embrace the qualities you lack.

The new year promises a new life.
It's a life you now need to set straight.
It's time to stretch, dear Butterfly
The world isn't going to wait.

A very nice poem, and a very nice message. By the way, you may not remember me, but we've exchanged comments in the past, good comments by the way, lol.

I think the first and third stanzas were my favorites, though it was all great. Good flow, good words, good rhymes, good structure and a good message (all be it toyourself, but a good message none the less, lol).

Aww, I love it. I felt this exact same way on new years eve, and I've been doing better with my life. I think everyone should look at the new year like that, if they did the world would be a so much better place. The flow was very nice, and I liked how you used the word "Blondie" hehe. Greay job!

    Keep writing!

This is very beautiful and creative Jaime. The flow was good, except it was a little shaky in the second stanza. I think you need to reword it a little or take some words out that you really don't need so that you can tighten it up a little. Other than that, I say that it's perfect. Creativity is a major plus when writing poetry, so is the flow, and the concept; which by the way was great also. You are an excellent writer and I look forward to working with you.
