The Edge

by Bill Turner   Jan 7, 2008

Always living on the razors edge
Pushing everything to the extreme
Standing on the precipice looking down
I should never have made it this far
Life is not equal, we do not play for par

Missing the fairway now and again
Bogeys the story of my life
Sometimes losing my balls in the rough
Shots hanging in the air, hitting the green
Always a good stroke, if you know what I mean

I feel as if I have won the green jacket
Aced all the shots along the way
My heart soaring like Lucy in the sky
Never realizing that this could be my life
Grateful that you are my wonderful wife

Your love pulled me back from the edge
Took me off of the course, showing me the way
Wrapping me in the blanket of life and living
Your love has changed my life forever
I am so glad you and I are together
