Someone elses war

by A girl broken until   Jan 8, 2008

Bullet shot through the head,
Never knew you were really dead,
all the shots you led astray,
all the tears that day,
Left alone to die,
how many people are gonna cry?
Rain pelts on,
covering the body,
of a soldier,
fighting a war he didnt start.

A mother asks the world why,
her sons not coming home,
a father lost in memories of baseball,
a sister sits alone and cries,
his best friend watched him die,
a mother asks the world why,
her son died fighting someone Elses war.

he was only seventeen,
underage yet still so keen,
black hair with a golden sheen,
died for his country,
thought fighting was the only way,
died so we could live today.

Families pray for safe return,
now hope for safe journey,
starting to believe in hell,
wishing for a heaven,
memories burn that the heart,
eventually fade away,
torn apart by truth,
kept together,
by lies and deceit.

The mother can barley breathe,
the father holds in a scream,
the sister slowly forgets how to dream,
the best friend learns to cry,
all torn from the broken life.

Belief begins to fade,
as legions fight for life,
tears form yet never fall,
no one backs out just stand tall,
they were supposed to be brave,
fight for truth,
when in actual fact,
the war was all a lie.

Mothers around the world cry,
always asking why,
fathers fight confusion of fading memories,
sisters find it hard not to cry,
best friends fall in battle,
fighting the same war,
they didnt start.
