Scrapbook of Love

by MyEscape   Jan 17, 2008

I left my tears to dry on the diary page
Along with the ink of what I wanted to say
It feels good to get it off my chest
And I know it's all for the best

Sweet memories, and bitter regrets
Both of those times I'll never forget
Don't cry because it couldn't last
Muster a smile when you think of the past

I felt alive. I was foolish and young
Had it in my head you were 'the one'
Man, how I loved those fairytale lies
Burned me later, but it felt so right
I had a scrapbook filled up with you
Tickets and pictures, dried flowers too
From summer to summer, it's all there
That blue eyed boy with the charming stare
And the brown eyed girl, with his heart
We were holding together what was falling apart
But I still can't find a reason to be mad
I still think those times were the best I had.

I may be older, but I still feel it now
The time we spent, lingers on somehow
Deep in my heart, inside of my head
Sometimes I lay at the foot of my bed

With that old scrapbook I made back then
Just to feel the passion we had again
It might just be a memory
But it still means something to me.

I felt alive. I was foolish and young
Had it in my head you were 'the one'
Man, how I loved those fairytale lies
Burned me later, but it felt so right
I had a scrapbook filled up with you
Tickets and pictures, dried flowers too
From summer to summer, it's all there
That blue eyed boy with the charming stare
And the brown eyed girl, with his heart
We were holding together what was falling apart
But I still can't find a reason to be mad
I still think those times were the best I had.
