You Gave Me A Letter

by Alexander   Jan 18, 2008

A letter i found in my locker,
writen on it were three simple words.
'I love you'.

Who gives a boy a love letter?
No name and no way to find
who this letter came from,
but one thing that i knew
was that it wasn't from you.

The next day and another letter,
this one saying more than the other.
'I love you and always have.'

Agian i wished for a name
or at least a simple clue,
a clue that maybe this letter
was from you.

Third day in a row a letter came,
this one saying even more.
'I love you and always have,
since the day that we meet.'

My heart was starting to ache,
if what this person said was true
i wished to learn there name...
because maybe, just maybe it was you.

Fourth day now and another letter,
Agian more was written this time.
'I love you and always have,
since the day that we meet so long ago.'

I could feel my breath catch in my throat,
i was given hope,
that maybe it really was you
and it wasn't just wishful thinking.

Fifth day and there was no note,
i felt my heart shatter.
Until now i hadn't relized
that i had been looking foward to it so.

Sixth day and agian nothing,
i feel like crying,
why had the letter suddenly stopped?

-----------------------------------------

Ninth day and i felt the sting
that this had been a joke,
sure nobody had said anything
but i still felt like a dope.

-----------------------------------------

Twelth day and my heart sored,
for there infront of me was a letter.
I opened it slowly afraid it would dissaper...
and written on it was this........

'I didn't send you a letter in so long
because i wanted to see how it would effect you.
Now that i know that it made you sad i'll tell you who i am.

Simply turn around and look
for there i am standing'

I turned around slowly and blinked a few times
There infront of me was 'you',
The one that my heart had ached for.

Alex, that was truly heartfelt. I am almost embarrased to say that my heart sank at the end, and a tear came to my eyes for you. I wish I could feel what happened for you, for real in my own life. Just one more time. Bravo.

    The beginning is adorable,
The middle is painful [as in I feel the heartbreak and disapointment]
The ending is just the fairytale everyone dreams of.
It's a simple story with beautiful twists.
An emotional journey and deep view of how the heart works.
    It's breathtaking =)
