Man of Poetry 4-29-02

by Phil Laws   Jan 19, 2008

Each day I find there's fallacy
Reminders of my frailty
So I record every worry
And thoughts of how to remedy
Writing down who I want to be
I choose each word methodically
That each time I'll become slowly
The man I make in poetry
With friends and foes bound endlessly
There's human nature to study
In choices made that I can see
Positions of intricacy
That yield wisdom to scrutiny
Showing people intimately
Lending improvement thoroughly
To the man made in poetry
Releasing love past tragedy
Writing it is my therapy
Making love to the words I free
Answering all necessity
Or read my learning history
The new and old epiphany
All words that are a part of me
The man, made up, of poetry
