My soulmate, my soldier

A flower fighting with all its might,
against the wind thats pushing past,
reminding of a love i knew,
the soldier i saw last.

a tree i saw standing tall,
reaching past, into the sky,
in it i see a lover of old,
but away my soldier did fly.

the ocean stretching so, so far,
to the end of the world its run,
like my lover that soldier of mine,
they have now both gone.

long ago i fell for him,
he won the war at heart,
but in the greater war, in real life,
he was taken from my by a flying dart.
