Black and Blue

Sometimes people cry, but tears don't fall
they just don't really believe at all
they try and they try
but they fall back
to the same place
with the same face

She wants to leave
but she just can't heave
enough strength
so she takes another blow
to her face

She says she loves him
but to others she just seems dim
it's all she's ever seen
she doesn't think he's all that mean

One night he goes too far
shoves her out of the car
hits her here
kicks her there
