Continue to Rise

by Black Princess   Feb 4, 2008

So I clean up the pieces of what used to be,
Throw them away with the old parts of me,
Open a new door and start all over again,
Clearing my life of tasteless lies and so called friends.

And so with all that I now hold in my hands,
I am beginning to see, and starting to understand,
That a should have cleaned up my life a long time ago,
But so scared of being alone, I struggled to let go.

I have more love then I can quite comprehend,
A life once full of just people, now full of friends,
And I may not be surrounded by as many as before,
But I am no longer surrounded by fakes anymore.

And now when I laugh it feels so real to me,
A fairytale life full of happiness is my reality,
I keep on rising and floating sky high,
Never letting go, I will continue to rise.
