A New Beginning

A New Beginning

Today I take the first step to a better life.
It's the day of my journey into my new world,
My own land and the beginning of my piece of mind.

There is no more room for heartache, worry,
Misery or unhappiness isn't welcome either.
The words "I can't do this", no longer holds a meaning.

I can and will do anything it takes to succeed.
For so long I based my life on servicing others,
But now it is time to focus on me and only me.

This is the beginning of me being all that I can be.
No longer shall my future be out there on a limb,
I will now make the necessary changes to make it secure.

No longer will I bend over backwards to appease anyone.
The blame and fault for others mistakes shall not be mine,
I have had enough misery from those mistakes to last me a lifetime.

From this day forward nothing but kind and sensitive
People will be a part of my new and precious life.
There is no room for negativity only positivist is allowed.

Anyone who can not abide by my rules in my world,
In my home, or on my land, will be pushed aside,
For someone else who truly and surly can.

  • WOW, it's like you peeked into my life and read my thoughts or something. This is exactly what I'm having to do in my own life right now. And this part...

Well, I'm starting school soon to start career training and that verse just made me think of that, perfectly. You did a wonderful job on the poem and I know, as a reader, I could really relate to it. 5/5 because it's so perfect in my eyes.

This is a very good poem. And you sound VERY strong in the message you're delivering in the poem. If I was just a person who read your writing for the first time ever, I'd think you're a real and serious woman after reading this strong poem. And we need more real women like yourself in this world!

You do a good job of keeping it real even in your poems! I'll be looking forward to reading your future poems, whether they're sad poems or positive poems.
