This truly is a hugely moving, sad and powerful poem. I've run out of superlatives!
"Trying to stay awake in this total eclipse of reality". Wonderful line. The admission of coming to terms with his absence is heart breaking. Brilliant write, Saffie.

Man... When I started reading I felt saddened but for some reason that last stanza hit me hard... Not had that in a while.

I didn't see the power of this poem till the end I had to re read it... Such sadness and what's worse is I know there will be truth init as there are in most of your poems... simple but man it hits home.... Such an amazing writer saffs...

This is just amazing. The sense of loss is so powerfully portrayed it feels personal and so moving.

You set the scene almost brutally at the start, no hinting, no holding back, those first two lines let us know what the poem is all about.

The emotion builds from there with your choice of wording so vivid they almost grab us by the hand and drag us into your dreams.

By the end I was surprised to find that I was almost in tears the emotion was so intense.

This poem, is heart wrenching saffie, but I do love how you seem to always write your emotions so well. Well it is very clear what this poem seems to be about, and no one could look through eyes and describe what you are feeling. but I assume a lot of people have gone through this as well, so I understand the connection it has. It seems this character (or you) were to be married and you were engaged when this person passed away. I love how you threw in some loving lines, because you show the reader how much you cared for this person. but in the end you are always waiting for the person you loved knowing they will never show up for the wedding. 5/5
