Amazing. Amazing how writing is both an embrace and a distancing from the emotions we grapple to give utterance. Amazing that you gave this feeling words. Thank you.

I call bull. You definitely are a poet lol

When I think of what you said here, about a soul being trapped in imagination, I think quote the opposite. I think every living being is a poet and not everyone knows how to tap into their inner most feelings and express them. I see face books posts and I'm like that's a poem and they didn't know it!

I love poems like these that question who are with writing? Because it's like are we humans with emotions, are we poets who just paint a pretty picture with words, what is real and what's fake? What titles do we really give ourselves? It's almost like two people in one body, the poet can tap into the beauty of any situation and the real us can't express it right.

Why do I feel like I can't comment on poetry without getting weird or deep lol....point is I loved this and I'm glad I'm reading again.

    Judging comment:

    Simply beautiful.
The adamant refusal to write another word within the opening really piqued my interest as we usually find poets struggling to find the words to write and a way to release them; not refusing to let them out. Particularly liked how Andrea stated her thoughts were dying and waiting to be grieved and followed this up with the use of the words being suffocating in their selves.

There's such sadness in the part of being a stranger to her own feelings. I feel like she's lost and desperately trying to find her way back to herself but doesn't know how because as she says she is trapped in her own mind.

It was the last three lines that stood out the most to me. She's alive but only surviving; not existing. Just struggling to get through each passing day and void of any emotion other than feeling like inside she's already dead.

So much despair and sorrow within this write whilst being exquisitely crafted.
