In truth, I am not sure of the necessity of this piece as you know, but either way and either one are very well written.
On the other hand, it's different enough to be a stand alone work without a reference back to your previous syntuit, so scrub the last comment, man, and run with it!
I appreciate the idea of "fermenting tears" and "ripe fruit", by the way - very clever.
