Ben, your title says it all, whilst your poem adds the awful imagery and pain.

Damn Ben, you said it all...so well done-

Jamie ( F C D ) at 2016-12-30

Ben, i, like Michael think the titke says it all. We are all pawns in the war machine even if we are not fighting inside it, we are victims of innocent killings. This poem could truly mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. Some fought in wars, some have lost, but it all remains the same. The feelings we feel are the same. I believe as humans we all know that deep down inside thst war is wrong, but some people admit it more than others.

The title is a perfect example of what you wanted to say in the poem itself. Killing innocents is wrong and meaningless but its all about money and not remorse.

Being the title the way it is leads me to believe that the poem is not about someone personal that you know, but the reoccurring feelings that you are tired of hearing about war and just want it to end.

The poem itself is definitely more than meets the eye. What i think: The main character is a soldier and does not realize the effects they are having by being a soldier. I love the visuals here, they work well because war is a painful thing to endure. No matter ehat you go through killing is wrong and even though it may not your child the aftermath is just as deadly as the action, sometimes even more so. Love this though. Well written.

Thanks Jamie. Another great comment. As far as the title goes, it was supposed to have two meanings: obviously, war is senseless, but also that the two parents each lose one of their senses as their daughter is being killed.

Take care

Ben, this Is a shocking revelation that I guess many people on here would be able to relate too and we have all no doubt seen and heard about these horrible, horrible tragedies on the news unless of course you don't watch it but these kinds of things are everywhere unfortunately and they are happening all too often, innocent children being killed in cold blood, it makes md physically sick.

Senseless killings of war - what a title and basically sums the whole piece up in a nutshell.

1/ wow, this is really hard hurting and it takes you right in there with a bang (no pun intended) it shows that even if these people wanted to help they couldn't which is so horrible that they can't.

2/ Omg, what a sad, horrible (not as in I dislike it but as in shocking) part that too many people have been through. I couldn't imagine having to go through anything like this is a warzone, not being able to help someone because I guess the parents of this child wanted to help but were too stunned too.

A very emotional piece, I feel.
Take care ,
Em

An irrational breed of folks. Indeed senseless killings of war. Amazing work, though pathetic.

Ben Pickard ( F P C D ) at 2016-12-31

Sorry, Naomi. I suppose that's what I was thinking about as I wrote this: there's a lot of celebration going on at the moment around the world but an awful lot of suffering too.

Take care

Scary write. Very scary indeed with the sense of sadness too. This kinds of horrible stuffs often happens in our evil world, but these people don't know that their names has been registered in the Hell.

A very sad imaginary. Sir... All the best for the future. And Happy New Year 2017.

Ben Pickard ( F P C D ) at 2017-01-03

Ben,

You were able to convey strong emotion of sadness and fear with few words. While reading, I could feel the guy wrenching fear and guilt of not being able to help from being wounded. I love free form poetry, it usually has the most emotion.

Great job on this piece.
