It started out like any other summer,
Every single joy and fear,

I wish I would have seen it long ago.
The happiness I thought I felt,
The love I thought we had,
Was all just a lie.
I can tell myself I'm over you all I want,
But no matter how much I tell myself that,
My heart knows the love I have for you will never go away,
No matter how far the distance.
We let everyone get in the middle of us,
But we never took the time,
To put OUR love in our OWN hands.
We've both been hurt in the past,
And letting go now will only bring more pain.
But we have no other choice,
When the love we thought we shared,
Is no longer there.
You can say you don't want to lose me,
But you know as well as I do,
You'd be way better off without me.
So, this time it's really done.
It's really over.
And to think, I almost gave you all I had left of me.
She fell for the lies,
Not realizing that you really didn't love her.
You were just trying to keep her around,
Only for your enjoyment.
