by Billy rob
Fall, take each leaf as you go,
Leave not one behind.
At least, I feel the splendor
Before you are unkind.
Strip me down to nothing,
All is yours to keep.
Cold winds no longer scare me,
For now, my roots sink deep.
Winter will give no mercy,
Only ice and snow,
But as is the way of seasons,
All stay awhile, then go.
Waiting, I will stretch my limbs
Upwards toward the sky.
Showing faith nature will send
Springtime, by and by.
Later, summer brings a gift
Of breezy, gentle nights.
Yet, I yearn to start all over
To have fall hold me tight.
