Waiting Online

Waiting for you to contact me,
worrying where you are
and if everything is ok,
I pace restlessly through the hours
trying not to watch the clock.

With every sound I hear,
the little "pop" my messenger makes
everytime someone signs in,
my heart does a little jump
as I wait to see the name.

Lonely without you with me
and trying to stay cool,
maybe I just over worry,
am to needy and insecure
but I get scared when I don't hear from you.

Pacing restlessly I wait
trying to stay awake,
hoping that maybe
just a few more minutes
and I'll see your name flash on.
