What Happened...

by Liam Lambie   Mar 23, 2014

What happened in the morning as you threw your feet out of the bed?
did you know before you had done that, by that night you would be dead?

What happened as you poured your morning coffee and turned on the t.v?
Did you think you had no one to talk to? because you could have always come to me!

What happened as you showered yourself and then picked out your clothes?
sorry for all these questions, its just that no one knows.

What happened as you ate your lunch, what was on your mind?
what were the solutions to your problems that you couldn't seem to find?

what happened as you sat there and watched the day pass by? did you sit and cry alone there or were you prepared to die?

what happened as you poured your drink and swallowed down those pills? because the thought of you just sitting there gives my body chills....

what happened when you'd done it? just before you fell asleep? were you content with your decision or did you lie down there and weep?

what happened when your eyes slowly began to close?
I'm sorry for all these questions, its just that no one knows!!

This poem hits home for me as well.. These are the many questions that run through your mind when you hear of a friend or loved one that takes their own life.. truly heartbreaking.

On the technical side of things, your rhyme flow is very nice.. lovely form.

I feel your pain. I lost an old friend on Thursday who sadly took her own life. This Poem is for (about) her.
Breaks my heart to think she was so low and felt like she couldn't reach out to anyone.

So many questions that I suppose will never be answered... I'm deeply sorry to hear about your loss too...

I hope your friend has now found the peace she was searching for. x
